Identity Crisis

What is up Ladies and Gentlemen!

It is has been so long since I have written a blog. I know its kind of bad, because I have this blog on my Twitter page and Facebook page. But there is a reason for me being absent. Truthfully, I had to take a break from everything because I had to focus on me. Do you know how important it is to rest?? Extremely! Self-evaluation is vital to life. It is how we discover our issues or things will struggle with. I'm tell you a little bit of my struggle; identity crisis. Now, I know that type of person that I am; I'm goofy, quiet, joyful and all kinds other cool charateristics.. But, one thing that I struggle with is being humble. Lol, I'm not saying I'm arrogant person, but I always dream being a better person. If I knew how to sing, if I could have rhythm, if my hair is long enough and such as that. I always want to have other people's gifts, but not appreciative of my own. For example, when I was particapating in a pageant, and I decided to do a mime for my talent portion. Now, although I have mime (once before) I was not that good at it! I also did not have a lot of time to practice because I all my other obligations, (work, school, friends, countless others.) As a result, I did not perform well, at least, not as well I wanted to!! Lol, no regrets! But I when I look back, I realized... I should've did poetry!! Because that is what I'm good at, and I pour my heart into it.. But I wanted to be center stage, I wanted to do something amazing. So i stepped out of my zone, did something new that I wasn't entirley comfortable with..

DEAR BODY, PLEASE CHANGE

Hello Bloggers!

Long time no see. Okay, so I wanted to come on here right quick because, I have a confession...I am a Youtube Guru. When it comes to watching YouTube videos, I am half-way addicted. As a result, it causes me to sit at the computer for hours. Not that I'm complaining, but this cause damage to the physical body, in a lazy kind of way lol. Today, I decided to do a work-out routine from an exercise tape that I bought. #FAIL. I barely got through the first 20 mins. This prompted me to think.. "I have to change". Not that I have ever been athlete, but I have never wanted to be a couch potatoe and I fear that is what I am changing to. I don't care where I'm at...whether that be in school, at home with my aunt, at store, on mars, whatever the place.. Taking care of my body is essential! A quick plan that I have made is 1. limit the amount of time I'm facebook, youtube, twitter, internet period (more details to come.) 2. Walk more, there is a whole city to explore! 3. encourage myself to be more active. Take a part of the household chore. I need to change! pray for me you guys!!

Cleaning out the Closet!

Hello fellow bloggers and readers and all others!

So today, I have decided to clean out my closet. (Not literally, seen as I live with my aunt and uncle so I don't have a closet yet!). But I realize as I make the transition to the next face of adult life, some things had to change about me. I started with my clothes. Truthfully, I have always been a little been insecure about the way I dress. I want to dress conservative yet sophisticated and pretty, so I needed to make some changes to my wardrobe. 1. No more clothes that are too tight. No need to showcase my spine with how tight my clothes. 2. Dress a styles that suits me. I know that I am young and a girl so, there are certain expectation on how to dress. But I want to dress  in a way that is comfortable to me and sends out the message I want to send. 3. Try something new! Step outside of the box! Right now, I don't know what that means lol! This will require thorough research. But I'm looking forward to this journey! I pray that God will bless me in this journey (Yeah you guys, I'm a Christian!) and that he will guide me in the right direction into the path of the woman that he wants me to be.

Stay blessed!

Choose Life over Death, Choose Success over Failure

So everybody has been through obstacles in their life; its kind of like the definition of life! But does how we deal with the obstacles make any difference? I don't means action like "I'll work harder next time" or "I'll be more patient' or "I'll won't be so careless." Obviously, no matter how much we try to make ourselves better, we will never be perfect so that is DEBUNKED!! But thats okay, because whats more important then perfecting our qualities is perfecting on how we feel on the inside! Let me tell you a true story about myself! I failed my sophomore year of high school! So I was retained that year...What made this even worst was that I attended a small high school; the average graduating class was between 20-80 students (and a class of 80 students was rare!) So everybody knew each otherand there wasn't no hiding the fact that I was redoing my sophomore year! So what did I do? I kept going! I faced the situation with boldness and  with an open mind. Yes, I cried and boo-hooed, yes, I got lots of strange looks from students and teacher alikes and yes, I wanted to transfer high schools and most importnatly yes, I was embarassed. But I took this new opportunitly, and a refreshed start to meet new people. Sure, I felt like an oddball, but I met some of my best friends and bonded with people who made my senior year significant. And now I am graduate of NIU with a bachelor's degree (the first of my brother and mom might I say lol!). So what can I say, it was very challegning and obviously not what I wanted for myself, but you always have a choose between facing your obstacle with out fear or allowing it to consume you!

Its up to you!

Inside out: A New Face

Don't worry, I'm not getting a face lift! But the kind of new face that I'm talking about is the one that takes places on the inside. Today, I have been reading articles about cleansing the soul and renewing thoughts. I am positive everybody has fallen victim to negative thoughts (such as, "I'm too fat", "I'm not tall enough", "I'm not relatable enough"and so forth.) Unfortunatley these thoughts can dictate the direction of our life, whether thats a brand new diet, 6-inch uncomfortable (but cute!) heels and many other needless things to change who we are to make us better. But have you ever wanted to live in complete freedom in who you are? Like you wouldn't mind being a little different from others? Not conforming to the standards of your friends or unrealistic expectations from authority figures? Don't give me wrong, there is always room for improvement in our lives, but when does accepting ourselves includes accepting the things that are good AND lacking about ourselves? Nobody is perfect! No person, no relationship, no friendship, spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend, whoever! But a part of having a successful relationship with yourself and others is being accepting of yourself and others. Of course, this is an obvious lesson that has been said over and over to death but, you'll be surprise how many people miss doing this or applying it to their lives. So go ahead, wear mismatch socks (I know I do!), treat yourself to a dessert at your favorite restaurant, and mostly importantly, free yourself from the world's standards. You haven't fit in before, why start now??

Be uniquely you!

Working with Watcha Got!!

So today, I woke up and I wondered, "what the heck am I going to do today?" Well, as a recent graduate, I am now hunting for the job, but in the mean time, I basically have 24 hours to myself. It is easy to slip into the repetitve pattern of waking up, eating, reading, sleeping, eating, watching movies etc. (just hint of how my day goes.) If you are in the same situation that I am in then I have the perfect solution for you and me...Prepare. Prepare for the future that is. There are so many perfect opportunities to start blogs, jewelry lines, YouTube channels and endless other things! Of course, Idealisticly, we would be working, enrolling in graduate school and many other things. But we must be appreciative of the time that we have, rarely do we get an opportunity like this My personal goals are the following; 1. Drafting designs for future jewelry (premeire coming soon) 2. Working on making my YouTube channel and more applicable to youtubers (check out my youtube channel, http://www.youtube.com/user/Danielesdestiny its up and coming) 3. Last and more importantly, cleaning out my emotions, (I want to rid myself of heavy emotional baggages such as bad decisions, past relationships and you know the works!) I know that all of this will be challenging, because it require intense discipline and preparation, but when you want something, you go for it, no matter the obstacles are or what we think we can do..

I look forwad to hear about your plans

Rock the Heck out of Fear

So today, I have come to a realization, fear has been major componet in my life....and not in a good way. Anybody that knows me knows that my faith is important aspect of my life. My heart is to evangelize the gospel and to preach to people the Bible. But still the fear of evangelizing to random people scare the heck of me. Obviously because of the idea of rejection and the akwardness of talking to strange people. But, this is a fear that I want to personally want to conqueor. Everybody has fear that are keeping them from fullfilling certain promises, repairing relationships, starting new project and the likes. Well a big component of life is overcoming such obstacles such hurt, physical challegnes and...you guess it, FEAR!! I no longer want to be a slave to fear. Of course lol, I'm not going to change overnight and neither are you. But making a plan and taking small steps can go a long way. Declaring to yourself "I will not be slave to fear anymore" is the first major step of walking out of this bondage!

Never be afraid of Reaching your Destiny!
